Applied Experience
in High-Performance Sport
I have worked with team sports such as water polo and rugby sevens, providing nutrition support across training blocks, competition phases, and overseas travel. I have also supported athletes in combat sports, including silat, wrestling, boxing, and wushu. This involved safe and effective weight management, competition preparation, and support through acute weight loss and post-weigh-in recovery and refuelling. In individual sports such as triathlon, sailing, and squash, I helped athletes periodise nutrition around training cycles, competition schedules, and frequent travel demands.

My Approach to Nutrition Coaching
Hi, I’m Sonia, the performance nutritionist behind The Elite Nutrition.

For over five years, I worked as a sports nutritionist within a high-performance sport institute in Singapore, supporting elite athletes across a wide range of performance contexts.
​
I have also provided on-site nutrition support at major competitions, including the SEA Games 2025, and have been involved in preparing athletes for World Championships and other major games. Across all settings, I work closely with coaches, strength and conditioning staff, physiologists, doctors, and psychologists to ensure nutrition strategies are aligned, realistic, and integrated into the wider performance plan.

I use my experience working in elite sport and apply that in my daily nutrition practice for not just athletes, but any adult wanting to upgrade their lifestyle and support longevity using nutrition. I understand what nutrition needs to look like when performance matters, time is limited, and pressure is high.
